Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 6, 2026
This policy explains what personal information Tattoo Vibes collects when you visit https://tattvibes.com/, why we collect it, who it is shared with, and the choices and rights you have over it.
Who we are
Tattoo Vibes is a tattoo inspiration publication at https://tattvibes.com/. For the purposes of data protection law we are the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at hello@tattvibes.com.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. If you use our contact form we collect your name, email address, subject and message. If you subscribe to the newsletter we collect your email address. If you leave a comment we collect the name, email address and comment you submit, plus your IP address and browser user agent, which WordPress records for spam prevention.
- Information collected automatically. Our servers and analytics tools record your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring page, the pages you view, and the date and time of your visit.
- Cookies and similar technologies. Set by us and by third parties, and described in our cookie policy.
How we use your information
- To publish and operate the site and display articles correctly on your device.
- To reply to messages you send us.
- To send the newsletter, if you asked for it.
- To display and moderate comments.
- To measure how the site is used so we can improve it.
- To display advertising, including personalised advertising where you have consented to it.
- To protect the site against spam, abuse and security threats.
Legal bases for processing
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on your consent for advertising cookies, analytics cookies and the newsletter. We rely on our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site for basic server logs and spam prevention. We rely on taking steps at your request when we reply to your contact form message.
Third party advertising
This site is funded by advertising. Third party advertising companies may set and read cookies, web beacons and similar technologies on your device, and may collect information about your visits to this and other websites in order to select, deliver and measure adverts.
- Google. Google, including Google AdSense and its partners, uses cookies to serve adverts here. Google uses advertising cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, and read more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- Advertising management partners. We may work with an advertising management provider, such as Mediavine, which places advertising on our behalf and works with a range of demand partners. These partners may process device identifiers, approximate location derived from your IP address, and browsing behaviour in order to select and measure adverts.
- Other vendors. Third party vendors and ad networks other than those named above may also serve adverts on this site.
Neither we nor our advertising partners use this data to identify you by name. If you are in a region with consent requirements, a consent notice is shown before non essential advertising cookies are set, and you can change or withdraw your choices at any time through that notice.
You can also opt out of interest based advertising through the Network Advertising Initiative, the Digital Advertising Alliance, or Your Online Choices in Europe.
Analytics
We use analytics services to understand how the site is used. These set cookies and process data such as your IP address, the pages you visit, how long you spend on them, and the site or search that referred you. Reporting is aggregated. Where the service supports it, IP addresses are anonymised or truncated.
Comments and embedded content
Comments and their metadata are retained so follow up comments can be recognised and approved automatically instead of being held in a queue. Articles may include embedded content such as images served by our image optimisation provider or embedded social posts. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited that other website, and those sites may collect data about you, set cookies and monitor your interaction with the embedded content.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only with the service providers that make this site work, including our web host, our content delivery and image optimisation provider, our email delivery provider, our analytics provider and our advertising partners. We may also disclose information where we are legally required to.
How long we keep information
Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so follow up comments can be recognised, unless you ask us to remove them. Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings of the analytics service.
Your rights
- Access. Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction. Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Deletion. Ask us to erase your personal information, including comments you have left.
- Restriction and objection. Ask us to limit how we use your information, or object to processing based on legitimate interests, including profiling for advertising.
- Portability. Receive the information you gave us in a machine readable format.
- Withdraw consent. Where we rely on consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting processing that already happened.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, these rights come from the General Data Protection Regulation, and you also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended gives you the right to know what personal information is collected, used and disclosed, to delete it, to correct it, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Sharing personal information with advertising partners for cross context behavioural advertising may be treated as sharing under that law. To opt out, use the consent notice on the site or contact us. We will not treat you differently for opting out.
To exercise any right, use our contact page or email hello@tattvibes.com. We respond within the time limit set by the law that applies to you, and we may need to verify your identity first.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Tattooing is age restricted in most countries. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
Our providers and advertising partners may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where information leaves the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our providers rely on recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection and we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site, the law, or our advertising partners change. The effective date above shows when it was last revised.
